Different projects. Work that can build on itself.
Each WebTree project should solve a useful problem in its own right.
Together, they give us places to explore how people can coordinate,
build trust, and benefit from each other’s work.
Bring together people with a need, a design, equipment, or a useful production skill. Start with local 3D printing and learn from getting real things made.
A design can be the beginning of many useful things.
Explore designs that change with a need. We’re building toward parametric models that people can create, adapt, fork, and improve, with a future connection to local production.
Tools for building projects, operating infrastructure, preserving knowledge, and coordinating people and AI. Built from our own needs, with useful parts becoming available to other teams.
First, get the MakeLocal customer-to-delivery loop working in practice.
Then connect reusable design and production feedback through 0CAD.
Develop shared capabilities where they help that work.
We plan to operate a printing service inside MakeLocal ourselves to
learn from quoting, making, delivery, and support. That experience
should improve the network.
This illustrates the intended relationship. The first MakeLocal orders
can use existing designs and manual coordination before this integration
exists.

Mentoring explored how mentors could benefit from the longer-term
success of the people they help. Its questions remain relevant; it is no
longer the identity of WebTree.
